Under the guidance of Chef A’Nyssa Harris, we jumped right into the kitchen, where stations were set up for different meal-prep tasks. From assembling beef and cheese quesadillas to preparing yellow rice, beans, guacamole, and chocolate chip cookies, we worked together to create a wholesome meal. Chef A’Nyssa provided helpful tips and kept the mood light, even as we rushed to meet the event’s timeline.
We felt so honored to serve the families with warmth and care. The families staying at the Ronald McDonald House face incredibly difficult situations, and the heartfelt thanks from the families truly made us feel like we had made a difference in their healing journey. In all we served 69 meals in addition to packing another 30 meals for families to go.
The event wrapped with a tour of the Ronald McDonald House, where we saw firsthand the incredible support they provide to families in crisis. From playrooms filled with books, games, and arts activities for kids, to a beautiful outdoor garden on the sixth floor with sweeping views of the skyline, the house offers families comfort, respite, and community during challenging times.
The experience was eye-opening, humbling, and incredibly rewarding. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute in such a meaningful way. Thank you to Ronald McDonald House Charities for providing a space for families when they need it most, and for allowing us to be part of such a memorable and impactful event.
